"How Does Your Family Of Origin Effect You As A Therapist And Your Clients In The Therapeutic Process"
This is a 5 hour group supervision session. The purpose of this group is to help the Intern to use their own Genogram to provide a source of family background information that can be used to explore the effect of those experiences on the Interns current work with client's, such as transference reactions, parallel process, anxiety, and other relationship difficulties. The genogram can also be used to help the supervisee explore their cultural and spiritual heritage and the impact of these variables on present behavior. Topics such as grief and loss, substance abuse, sexuality, intimacy, gender roles, divorce, stepfamilies, social support, and family resources can all be explored via the genogram. This can be a significant first step in your professional development as a Therapist.
Proposed Dates: Friday 6/6; 6/13; or 6/20
